Why choose a villa?
Planning a trip to Disney World can be a minefield if you have never visited before. There are so many decisions to make on where to stay, villa or hotel, best time of year and planning your theme park visits.
Probably one of the first decisions you will make is whether to stay onsite in a hotel or offsite in a villa.
Here we explore some of the benefits of choosing a villa for your stay.
1. Space
The main attraction for most would be the space! You can have a large house complete with separate bedrooms & bathrooms, a private pool and usually a games/entertainment room, often for a similar price of a hotel. Do not underestimate the luxury of having several bathrooms for your group to get ready in the mornings so you can arrive nice and early at the parks.
2. Value for money
On that same point, a villa can work out a much more affordable option. Many families rent a villa together meaning they can share the costs but still benefit from all the extra room. Win win!
3. Onsite amenities
Many villas are on resort style complexes so you can benefit from the many onsite amenities such as clubhouse, communal pool, playgrounds and tennis courts. It is great to have the option of some privacy by your own pool or choosing to socialise with others, as well as keeping the children entertained.
4. More time to relax
If you are parents of small children, I am sure you have all been there in a hotel room when the children are sleeping and you are sat there quietly scared to move incase you wake them up. Or you cant get ready in the mornings incase you wake them.
The beauty of a villa is they have their own room, so in the evenings once they are asleep you can get yourself a glass of your favourite and sit outside and relax. Or for the early risers, make yourself a coffee in the morning to enjoy before the day starts.
5. Preparing your own food
We all know the costs of Disney food is pretty extortionate. Being able prepare food to take with you to the parks is invaluable. You will save both time and money (and in alot of cases your sanity when the kids NEED a snack!) There is also something incredibly special about having a BBQ outside on a warm Floridian evening whilst the children are splashing about in the pool. Those memories are priceless. Self catering is both an affordable and convenient option.
6. Laundry
Now this one for us is a big one - washing! I know you dont want to spend your holiday doing the laundry, however it is super easy to throw a load into the wash and dryer. Meaning you can pack less clothes and still have clean outfits every day! More room for shopping right? Its also great if you like to be super organised as you can wash all your clothes and pack away before coming home. You will thank yourself later.
7. Tranquility
After a busy day visiting the parks, you can retreat to the peace and quiet of your own villa. Its like coming home from work at the end of the day and you feel a sense of ‘home’. Many guests describe the villas as ‘a home from home’ and that really is our goal. An Orlando holiday can be somewhat exhausting but that feeling of being home, can alleviate the feeling of overwhelm.
I hope these help with your decision whatever you choose. We would love to help you with your villa accommodation, so please do get in touch for a chat or quote.
