Top Tips when visiting Disney
Visiting Disney World is undoubtedly a magical experience that will create memories to last a lifetime. After many years of visiting, here are some of our top tips:
Plan Ahead: Disney World is huge! It can be quite overwhelming initially so having a rough plan and itinerary really helps to get the most from your days. Write a list of all the theme parks, rides and attractions you want to visit . You can use the official Disney website to check ride options, opening times, showtimes etc.
Download the My Disney App: This is a super handy app that provides park maps, attraction wait times, dining options, and more. It can help you stay organized and informed throughout the day.
Genie Plus: Disney World offers something called Genie Plus or a virtual queue system. Use these to reserve access to popular rides and attractions in advance, reducing your wait times significantly.
Arrive Early: Arrive at the parks early, especially if you are parking. It can often take a while to travel from your car to the entrance of the park (especially at Magic Kingdom) so allow extra time. And don’t forget to take a photo of where you have parked - you’re bound to forget!
Wear Comfortable Clothing and Shoes: Expect to walk a lot, so wear comfortable clothing and footwear. Check the weather forecast and pack the ponchos incase of a downpour.
Stay Hydrated: Florida's climate can be hot and humid. Bring your refillable water bottles and use water fountains throughout the park. Stainless steel ones are great for keeping them cold all day. If you are staying in a villa, you can also freeze your water bottles and they will defrost throughout the day, leaving you with lovely cold water!
Take a portable charger in your back pack. You will need your phone for the Disney app, photos and if your tickets are saved on it.
Pack Snacks: Food inside the park can be expensive, so consider bringing your own packed lunches and snacks. It will also keep the children happy in any queues.
Take Breaks: Disney World can be overwhelming, especially with kids. Take breaks during the day to relax, recharge, and avoid exhaustion. And definitely consider taking or hiring a stroller to rest those little legs, even if they don’t use one anymore. It can help you get from A to B much quicker and is useful to store your belongings in.
Merchandise: As you would expect, Disney merchandise is incredibly expensive. Consider buying as much as you can prior to your trip. Primark has a great selection of clothes, stationary and toys.
Be Flexible: Despite your planning, things might not go exactly as expected. Be flexible and open to adjusting your plans if necessary. Consider having your first day as a ‘rest day’ or heading out in the afternoon as you maybe exhausted from travelling.
Have Fun and Embrace the Magic: Disney World is all about creating magical moments and memories. Let yourself have fun, be immersed in the experience, and enjoy the enchanting atmosphere !!!
