Restaurants

Davenport, Kissimmee and the greater Orlando area offer a culinary journey around the world! From Mexican and Italian favorites to Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Thai and Greek, you’ll find it all deliciously prepared for you here. If you’re in the mood for a colossal T-bone steak or a flavorful filet, you’ll find it. Pizza, barbecue, seafood? Right this way. Even quaint little bistros. A fusion of Asian flavors is abundant, from sushi to dim sum to teppanyaki. And if you love dining with a Latin flair, Kissimmee’s Latin Trail offers a tantalizing selection of authentic dishes from Puerto Rico, Cuba, and Spain. Here are a few of our personal recommendations.

The Cheesecake Factory

Situated at the Mall of Millennia the Cheesecake factory is a very popular restaurant. It is obviously famous for its range of over 30 different cheesecakes but don’t think that it is all about desserts as the rest of the food is fantastic too. One word of warning, as always the portions are huge so make sure you leave enough room for the cheesecake.

Brio

Situated on the opposite side of the Cheesecake factory at the Mall of Millennia entrance is a Tuscan grille called Brio. Texas Roadhouse

Situated on 7973 West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway, Kissimmee, FL 34747 also know as “the 192” is the very popular Texas Roadhouse. As well as great food it is also known for providing as much as you can eat FREE peanuts in their shell. You get a bucket full and once you have cracked open the shell and eaten the nuts you throw the shell on the floor! Feel awkward well don’t worry as everybody does it, it is a custom. As well as the usual slow cooked ribs, vast selection of hand cut steaks, huge burgers, chicken specialties and legendary sides you also get complimentary soft and warm buns with delicious cinnamon butter. Careful you don’t fill up, as it is hard to stop. Two things to watch out for are the regular offers like an 8oz Sirloin with two sides for an amazing $9.99. Keep an eye on the website or join their email list. The other is the impromptu singing and dancing that the staff engage in. Whatever you do don’t mention it is your birthday!!

The Bahama Breeze

There are a number of Bahama Breeze restaurants in the Disney/Orlando area but the general consensus it that the best one is on the International Drive at 8849 International Drive, Orlando, FL 32819. Close by, and maybe advisable to go on first before you eat, is the brand new Orlando Eye with spectacular views. https://www.officialorlandoeye.com

Bahama Breeze has a definite Caribbean twist to the menus with a good choice of fresh fish as well as steaks, awesome ribs, and Jamaican jerk dishes. The Bahama Breeze also has a great range of cocktails and if you sit outside under the canopy there is nothing better on a warm and balmy evening than great food, super cocktails and the sound of a Caribbean steel band to entertain. Be warned however that The Bahama Breeze is popular it its own right but is also situated near The Orange County Convention Centre so you may have to wait for a table as it is very popular.

Seasons 52

Highly recommended by many homeowners if you are looking for something a little bit different for a special occasion, or just to celebrate that you are in the vacation capital of the world, is Seasons 52 located in Dr Philips, Orlando. The food and the service is excellent and watch out for the flatbread starters which are like a thin rectangular pizza. Also a little bit different are the desserts that are brought to the table in shot glasses so you can have a variety by choosing 2 or 3 (or 4!) Get there earlier than your table is booked and enjoy some live music in the piano bar or sit out on the verandah overlooking the lake. Seasons 52 is slightly more expensive that the chain restaurants but not over the top and well worth it.

Applebee’s

Part of a chain there are a number of Applebee’s restaurants in the Disney/Orlando area but one of the best ones is conveniently located on the US 27 at Berry Town Centre, Applebee’s 200 Ambersweet Way, Davenport, Florida 33897.

The restaurant is decked out in a typical American bar style with lost of memorabilia on the walls, TV screens on the walls, a central bar with bar stools and plenty of booths. If you don’t want to eat out, maybe you have very young kids that will be in bed then Applebee’s has a “Carside To Go” service. This service lets you call in an order and have it delivered right to your car door. Just call ahead and they will have it ready and waiting for you when you arrive to pick it up.

If you are dining inside Applebee’s then you may want to go when they have a happy hour with a 2-4-1 drinks offer. Also if you are looking for a quality meal but at a bargain price try the 2 for $20 deal. 1 appetizer and 2 entrees for just $20! Or if you want to eat at lunch time a lunch combo for just $6.99. Applebee’s really is great value for money.
